Our workshop will ensure your employees understand how to keep your school or trust compliant with legislative and good practice requirements. It covers managing applications for employment, maintaining suitable records, and carrying out the appropriate checks

 

About this event

Join our safer recruitment expert, Beth Alberga, as she advises on onboarding your employees more smoothly and effectively, so that you can confidently review your own practices and apply practical measures to ensure compliance. Beth will cover: 

  • the compliance aspects of employment

  • how to comply with employment and safer recruitment protocols, including the retention requirements for different documents and online searches

  • how to scrutinise the application form and other recruitment processes

  • how to carry out appropriate pre-employment checks at your school or trust, including DBS

  • how to create and maintain an effective SCR and personnel file for your recruits

  • the retention requirements to abide by for different documents.

On completion of this course, you will receive a CPD certification. Since the training is accredited, it also supports your employees’ professional development.

    Beth’s background in safeguarding and safer recruitment spans over 10 years. Her education experience includes work as a qualified trainer, having completed the Safer Recruitment Consortium training and her years of service with EPM. Beth is part of the South-east England Safeguarding Network Group whose aim is to keep safeguarding high on everybody’s agenda. She is also part of regional groups and national forums that share best practices and develop policy as part of a DfE working group formed during consultation for KCSIE documents.
