Ensure proper right to work checks in educational settings

Schools and Trusts must perform the required checks as outlined in 'an employer's guide to right to work checks'.

Ensuring you are carrying out the correct right to work checks is key to preventing illegal working. This session will identify the correct checks to use in each situation and help you to avoid severe legal consequences.

This highly interactive session will explain the importance of conducting right to work checks as well as providing you with the resources to understand how and when to undertake these checks to ensure compliance.

About this event

Delivered by the Home Office alongside our Safer Recruitment Consultant, Beth Alberga, you'll gain a clear understanding of your legal responsibilities and will develop the skills to enforce the correct right to work checks. We'll cover:

  • when an employer needs to conduct a right to work check

  • how to conduct manual and online right to work checks via identity service providers (IDSPs)

  • civil penalties and prosecution, when employers do not comply with the right to work legislation

  • circumstances in which they will have a statutory excuse and where to find further information and support when conducting right to work checks.

Please note: upfront payment is required for all training courses at least 48 hours before. As soon as payment is received, you will be sent the link for the training.
