Creating an environment where you and your colleagues feel confident and safe to discuss mental health is a crucial management skill that contributes to your staff’s overall wellbeing.

Looking at the importance of knowing your team, and how to recognise the early warning signs of stress, We’ll help you to tactfully discuss mental health matters with your colleagues and break down the barriers surrounding mental health conversation in your workplace.

 

About this event

Join our Mental Health instructor Juliet Adloune, as she helps you to create a mentally healthy workplace, putting wellbeing at the heart of your leadership approach.

In this session, you will learn to:

  • Identify if an employee may be experiencing poor mental health.

  • Gain confidence in having open conversations about mental health with your team members.

  • Appropriately sign post to available support and know where to go for support and guidance yourself.

  • Role model good self-care practice, inspiring your team to look after their own mental health and wellbeing.

    Juliet Adloune

    Instructor for Adult Mental Health First Aid

    In her professional life, Juliet Adloune considers herself as a teacher and a leader. Effective communication is key to the impact of all her work and this now applies to her role as a Mental Health First Aid Instructor and an Associate Tutor for Suicide First Aid.

    Juliet's delivery and facilitation style is calm, confident and inclusive, drawing on a range of participation strategies to maintain engagement and maximise learning. She knows the importance of participants being able to enjoy the learning experience and this is a consideration even when delivering serious subject matters.

    Carrying through her commitment in supporting mental health and well-being, Juliet runs a small FoodHut, contributes regular articles for a local magazine, write daily social media posts and gives talks to organisations such as the GP Patient Participation Group and Scouting groups.
