About this event

Join our HR expert, Emma Jackson, as she advises on the fundamentals of HR and employment law and how to embed these into your day-to-day practices, including:

  • the responsibilities of management and how to carry these out effectively

  • the significance of the Equality Act 2010 

  • common errors and how to avoid them

  • how to manage conduct and have professional discussions 

  • how to carry out disciplinary investigations 

  • how to manage capability issues, including setting appraisal and capability action plans 

  • how to manage staff attendance to increase attendance

  • the basics of redundancy.

On completion of this course, you will receive a CPD certification. Since the training is accredited, it also supports your employees’ professional development.

    Emma’s background in training spans over 15 years with both small and large audiences. She has vast HR and investigation experience in education and is a CIPD-qualified HR Consultant. She is also a qualified safer recruitment trainer and a member of the Safer Recruitment Consortium. Emma has worked in employment and criminal law and is a very experienced investigator in both areas. Emma’s HR experience is predominately in employee relations and has specialised previously in grievances, disciplinaries and attendance management.
