Make a good quality referral with support from experts at the DBS

Join our FREE event to ensure you have all the advice and tips you need to make a good quality DBS referral.

Our safer recruitment and DBS experts, including an Outreach Adviser from the Disclosure and Barring Service, will help you to understand the process and requirements more thoroughly to aid a positive safeguarding culture in your setting. You'll also have the opportunity to ask any relevant questions.

We'll be discussing:

  • what ‘regulated activity’ is
  • when a DBS barring referral should be made, including when the legal duty is met
  • the three different referral routes
  • how to make a good quality referral
  • the consequences of not making appropriate barring referrals
  • the consequences of being included on one or both Barred Lists.
